The "9st [Tokyo] Legal and Intellectual Property EXPO" was held at Makuhari Messe for three days from September 16th to September 9th.

In 2020, many events were postponed or canceled one after another due to the corona disaster, but this legal affairs and intellectual property EXPO was also postponed, and in some cases there was a possibility of cancellation, but it will be delayed from the initial April holding. For five months, I moved to another place and finally saw the light of day.

Aztec has also exhibited at such a legal and intellectual property EXPO, so this time we will deliver an event report as a special edition.

XNUMX.About the exhibition

Leed Publishing Co., Ltd., which is famous for various exhibitions, has the theme of "legal affairs and intellectual property" and will be held in three locations: Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya.The entire venue holds multiple exhibitions related to the back office at the same time as "General Affairs / Human Resources / Accounting Week".In addition, this time, an "online business negotiation" was held at the same time with a virtual booth, so even those who could not go directly to the site could participate.How was this virtual booth, online business negotiations, and who actually used it? (It was a lot of work because neither the visitors nor the exhibitors got used to each other, but ...)

By the way, there has been a "patent / information fair" at domestic IP exhibitions, but since it was held only once a year in Tokyo, new options have been added to it.

This year 2020 is anomalous, but the original holding time is April for the Legal and Intellectual Property EXPO (Tokyo) and November for the Patent and Information Fair, so from now on, it will be held about once every 4 months. An exhibition is likely to be held.

(As an aside, this year's patent and information fair is scheduled to be held online only in December. We will also be exhibiting here!)

Officially, the number of visitors to the exhibition alone (legal / intellectual property EXPO) is not disclosed, but the total number of visitors for the entire exhibition (general affairs / human resources / accounting week) is 3 for 18,629 days.

At Aztec, about 120 people came to the venue booth and about 120 people to the virtual booth, for a total of 240 people. Thank you very much.

While there are many comments such as "We already have a contractor with whom we have a relationship, but we are looking for a new reliable research company," "We will strengthen our intellectual property activities in the future." "We have recently established an intellectual property system." There were many people who said, "I raised it" and "There is such a service (in response to the guidance)."In that case, many people are unfamiliar with the search service, so we carefully guided each question such as "what kind of request is available", "how far can we request", and "what should we start with?"It's hard to say in detail, but it's easier than you think to start a search request, so please feel free to contact us, and above all, I would like you to experience the effects.

We also introduce Aztec IP to those who are expected to apply for a patent.

In addition, there were consultations such as "I want to evaluate the value of patents", "I want to find a partner from patent information and company's technical information", and "I want to improve the quality of in-house searches", but I received consultations on past achievements. When I spoke frankly based on my experience and said, "I was worried, but I'm glad I heard it," it was a moment when I was glad I was able to participate. Nowadays, it is common to interact with customers remotely, so this face-to-face business negotiation was the first opportunity in a long time.I strongly feel the benefits of being able to communicate face-to-face than before.Online and offline are different.

On the other hand, there are people who can be connected and there are things that can be done because it is remote, so for the time being, how to secure and improve the customer experience under remote is likely to be an issue for both the exhibition and us.
